The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1997 to accomplish the need of IT sector. The Department is well equipped with the basic resources. The Department comprises of well qualified and dedicated faculty members. The Department was upgraded into a post graduate stream in the year2012.

The academic performance of the department is outstanding. The department has made an everlasting impression in the world of computer education. Since, the aim of the department is to reach the zenith; it is taking the required steps focusing towards the goal. 

The competitive modern world forces the individuals to have an extra edge to be successful. Programmers’ to develop such qualities are the other important aspects of the department. Our ambition is to make the students use their intellectual caliber for effective and quick acquisition.

Program Outcomes (Pos) :

PO 1: Apply the knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline

PO 2:  Analyze a problem, and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution

PO 3: Potentially design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs

PO 4 : Strengthen  to identify, formulate, and develop solutions to computational challenges.

PO 5: understand professional, ethical, legal, security, and social issues and responsibilities for the computing profession.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO1  : To apply mathematical methodologies to solve computation task, model real world problem using appropriate data structure and suitable algorithm. 

PSO2  : To use knowledge in various domains to identify research gaps accordingly provide solution to new ideas and innovations

Course Outcomes (COs):

CO 1 : Apply good analytic, design, and implementation skills required to formulate and solve computer science problems.

CO 2 : Be able to draw upon foundational knowledge, learn, adapt and successfully bring to bear analytical and computational approaches on changing societal and technological challenges.

CO3 :  Exhibit Proficiency in problem solving techniques using the computer.

CO 4 : Be equipped with the Fundamental understanding and practical skills required by the IT industry.

CO 5: Demonstrate Broadness of knowledge in the discipline of computer science.

ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES :

The Department activities are carried out through the CLUSTER club.  The Cluster  club organizes guest lectures, seminars, workshops, intercollegiate competitions and industrial visit.

Weekly activities are conducted to enhance the skill of the students and it enables the creativity of the young mind.

Department of Biochemistry along with PG departments of Computer science and Commerce organized a workshop on “Art of thesis writing” during January 2017.

Department of computer science organized two days workshop on R Programming along with ICT Academy on 25th & 26th September 2017.

The Department of Computer Science and Computer Applications organized Two days National Conference "Current Trends in Computational Sciences" on 31st August and 1st Septermber 2018.
