Vellum Tamil Pengal

The Vellum Tamil Pengal (Winning Tamil Women) event at PeriyarThidal on March 5, 2026, was a regional assembly and competition focused on women’s empowerment and political mobilization ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Narumugai Club of the department of Tamil gathered 100 girl students of the college to participate in the event. The event featured prominent speech competitions where students and women achievers spoke on themes of leadership and the “Dravidian Model” of governance.It served as a platform to highlight success stories of women beneficiaries of various state welfare schemes, such as the KalaignarMagalirUrimai Thogai (Women’s Entitlement Scheme).The program significantly enhanced the students awareness and understanding of Women Entitled Schemes. It motivated students to explore Tamilnadu government schemes more deeply and fostered a lasting interest in education.
