World Mother Tongue Day

ON 23rd February 2026, the Department of Tamil organized the World Mother Tongue Day 2026 celebration on 23 February 2026 at 10.00 a.m. at the college campus. The program was conducted to emphasize the value of mother tongue, particularly Tamil, in shaping culture and knowledge.
The event began with a welcome address followed by special speeches from distinguished guests and faculty members. Students actively participated through speech competitions, poetry recitation, and cultural performances highlighting Tamil tradition and literature. The program successfully created an academic and cultural atmosphere celebrating linguistic pride and heritage.Students developed greater awareness about the importance of preserving their mother tongue. Increased interest in Tamil literature, culture, and linguistic studies. Enhanced communication skills through active student participation. Strengthened respect for linguistic diversity and cultural identity. Encouraged students to take pride in their language and contribute to its growth.
