Symposium on Bioinstrumentation

| On 19th February 2026, the IQAC in association with the Department of Biochemistry, successfully organized a Symposium on Bio-Instrumentation for the benefit of students.
The session was handled by R Gopi, Service Engineer from Sudhagar Biological and Chemical Pvt Ltd, Chennai. The resource person provided an informative and practical session focusing on the installation, servicing, and proper usage of laboratory instruments commonly used in the Biochemistry laboratory. During the session, Mr. R. Gopi demonstrated and explained the working principles, operational techniques, and maintenance procedures of various instruments, including the centrifuge, light microscope, colorimeter, and several other essential laboratory instruments available in the Biochemistry lab. Special emphasis was given to understanding the user manuals, safety precautions, and best practices to ensure accurate results and longevity of the equipment. The session was highly interactive and practical, enabling students to gain hands-on knowledge and clarify their doubts regarding the correct handling and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments. The programme significantly enhanced the students’ technical skills and practical understanding of bio-instrumentation.
