Instrumentation and Application of NMR Spectroscopy

On 24th February 2026, the Department of Chemistry organized a seminar, in which a group of 70 students participated and made the program a success. Mrs. S. Jeba Sheeja, Head of the Department of Chemistry, honoured the Chief Guest with a memento. Mr. S. Deepak Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Annai Violet Arts & Science College, delivered the welcome address.

The seminar provided valuable insights into NMR Spectroscopy, including the concepts of shielding and deshielding of protons and various sample analysis methodologies involved in NMR spectroscopy. The COSY spectrum was explained in detail with a diagram, along with a clear explanation of chemical shift, making the session highly informative and effective.

The program was successfully concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Trisha J. B., II B.Sc. Chemistry, Annai Violet Arts & Science College.
