Mini Marathon – Run for a Cause – Cancer Awareness

The IQAC and NSS Unit of Annai Violet Arts and Science College successfully organized a Mini Marathon titled “Run for a Cause” on 28th February 2026, with enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. A total of 324 students took part in the event, reflecting a strong sense of commitment and community spirit.
The programme commenced with a structured warm-up session, ensuring that all participants were physically prepared and well-informed about safety guidelines. The atmosphere was energetic and vibrant, with students displaying remarkable enthusiasm and unity.
The marathon was officially flagged off by Dr. J. Pranav Chakravarthy, M.B.B.S., M.D., Founder and Chairman of Flamingo Health Centre. In his address, he emphasized the importance of regular physical activity, preventive healthcare, and the vital role of youth in health awareness initiatives. His presence added great significance to the occasion and served as a source of motivation for all participants.
To ensure participant safety, an ambulance sponsored by Flamingo Health Centre was stationed at the venue throughout the event, with medical personnel on standby — a testament to the organizers’ commitment to student welfare and effective risk management.
The marathon was conducted in a disciplined and systematic manner under the supervision of faculty members and NSS volunteers. Students ran with great determination and a commendable spirit of sportsmanship.
At the conclusion of the marathon, a prize distribution ceremony was held to honor outstanding performers:
- Trophies were awarded to the Top 5 Boys and Top 5 Girls.
- Medals were presented to the first three place winners in both categories in recognition of their exceptional performance.
The prize distribution ceremony marked a proud and celebratory moment for the winners and participants alike.
