Child Labour Awareness Day Observation
On 12th June 2026, the IQAC and NSS Unit of Annai Violet Arts and Science College jointly observed Child Labour Awareness Day to promote awareness regarding the elimination of child labour practices. The programme commenced with a brief introduction that highlighted the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring their access to education and holistic development.
During the programme, the faculty members were sensitized to the adverse effects of child labour on children’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. They were also informed about the legal provisions and government initiatives aimed at preventing child exploitation and protecting the rights of children.
Subsequently, all the participants solemnly took the Child Labour Awareness Day Pledge, affirming their commitment to opposing child labour in all its forms and contributing towards creating awareness within society. The pledge emphasized the collective responsibility of educational institutions and individuals in ensuring that every child received a safe, healthy, and education-oriented environment.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 80 faculty members, reflecting their commitment to social responsibility, child welfare, and community development. The event successfully strengthened awareness about the eradication of child labour and reinforced the importance of collective efforts in protecting the rights and dignity of every child.
