Seminar on National Science Day 2026- Theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat”

The IIC ,IQAC, in association with the Science Departments, successfully organized a seminar to celebrate National Science Day 2026 on 27th February 2026. The seminar was conducted under the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat” and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, making the event a grand success.
Session I
The first session featured paper presentations based on the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.” A large number of students actively participated by presenting their research ideas and innovative concepts. The session was highly interactive, with students engaging in meaningful discussions, asking insightful questions, and sharing their perspectives on the contributions of women to science and national development.
Session II
The second session was graced by the esteemed resource person, Dr. B. Keerthana, (PT), BPT., MPT (Oncology)., CMFR., CTT., MIAP, Assistant Professor, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai. The resource person was felicitated by the Principal and Vice Principal with a shawl and memento as a mark of appreciation.
During this session, the Science Departments’ newsletter was officially released by the Heads of all Science Departments. Dr. Keerthana delivered an enlightening talk on “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat,” emphasizing the significant role of women in achieving Viksit Bharat 2047, marking 100 years of Indian Independence. Her address covered key topics such as women’s leadership in science, global scientific collaboration for societal well-being, and an overview of cancer and its treatment.
She encouraged students to initiate innovative research ideas that could lead to future scientific advancements. The session also included an engaging question-and-answer segment, during which students actively interacted with the resource person.At the end of the session, certificates were distributed to students for their outstanding paper presentations.The seminar concluded with a feedback session, during which students shared their views on the overall programme. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants appreciating the opportunity to learn from an expert and to showcase their research ideas.Overall, the National Science Day 2026 seminar was a resounding success and served as a source of inspiration and motivation for students to actively contribute to scientific research and innovation in the future.
