Field Visit – Vagamon, Kochin and Varkala

The educational tour was organized by the Department of B.Com Accounting and Finance (Fino Club) in association with the IQAC on 23rd February 2026. It witnessed active participation from third-year students, accompanied by faculty members and local guides.The trip covered three key destinations in Kerala – Vagamon, Kochi, and Varkala – each offering unique learning experiences:
Vagamon: Students explored the lush green hills, tea gardens, and natural landscapes of Vagamon, gaining insights into biodiversity, ecological balance, and sustainable tourism practices. The visit helped students understand the importance of environmental conservation and the role of hill stations in promoting eco-tourism.
Kochi (Cochin): Participants visited historically significant locations such as Fort Kochi, where they learned about the city’s colonial past, maritime trade, and cultural diversity. The exposure provided knowledge on Kerala’s role in international trade and the blend of traditional and modern economic activities.
Varkala: Known for its unique cliff formations and coastal beauty, Varkala served as a platform for understanding coastal geography, marine ecosystems, and tourism development. Students also observed the significance of sustainable tourism practices in preserving coastal environments.
