Extension activity – Sapling Plantation Drive

On 10 July 2026, the IQAC, Department of Microbiology, Eco club &GovindhanThangal Lake Protection Association jointly organized an extension activity titled “Sapling Plantation Drive” at GovindhanThangal Lake, Avadi. Ms. Latha, Environmentalist & Ms. Saranya Commissioner, Avadi City Municipal Corporation, addressed the gathering and emphasized the vital role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, mitigating climate change, improving air quality, and protecting water resources. They encouraged students to become environmental stewards by actively participating in conservation activities.

Following the inaugural session, the Chief Guests, faculty members, representatives of the Lake Protection Association, and student volunteers from II and III B.Sc. Microbiology planted saplings around the lake premises.
