Youth Parliament Competition – Vikshit Bharat State Level Competition – Organised

On 11th March 2026, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organised the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 – Tamil Nadu State Level Competition at Annai Violet Arts and Science College, Ambattur, Chennai. The programme commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony presided over by eminent dignitaries from academia and government organisations. The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Rajat Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Vel Tech University, delivered an inspiring address emphasising the role of youth in nation-building and policy engagement.

The day was graced by distinguished personalities including Mr. Senthil Kumar (State Director, My Bharat – Tamil Nadu & Puducherry), Dr. Samuel Chellaiah (NSS Regional Director), Mr. Saravanan (Deputy Director, My Bharat), and Mr. Shiva (Deputy Director, My Bharat, Chennai), along with the host institution’s leadership — Principal Dr. C. Initha Lebanon Ebency and Vice Principal Dr. Japhia Solomon.

Following the inauguration, the competition began with participants representing various districts of Tamil Nadu. Each district nominated five participants, and each speaker was allotted a maximum of three minutes to present their perspectives on the Union Budget 2026. The discussions covered diverse themes such as skill-based education, employment opportunities, technological advancements including artificial intelligence, and youth empowerment through innovative sectors such as gaming.

The preliminary rounds concluded with the selection of the top five participants from each of the 18 districts, based on their clarity, content, and presentation skills.

Day 2: Final Round and Valedictory Session

The second day of the event featured the final round, in which selected participants competed at a higher level of discourse. The speakers demonstrated exceptional analytical skills, presenting well-structured arguments on how the national budget could transform education systems and create employment opportunities for the youth.

The final round witnessed intense yet constructive debates, reflecting the participants’ awareness of national issues and their ability to propose practical solutions. The event concluded with a valedictory session, during which the winners were announced and prizes were distributed. The dignitaries appreciated the enthusiasm, confidence, and intellectual depth exhibited by the participants.
