July 28, 2026 • NSS

On 1st July 2026, the occasion of Doctors’ Day, IQAC & NSS unit Volunteers Annai Violet Arts & Science College, actively participated in the Mega Medical Camp for the Public, organized in collaboration with Lions International, District 3241 B, at GLRA Vocational Training Centre, Anna Nagar.

The camp offered a wide range of healthcare and community welfare services, including:

  • Mega Medical Camp for the Public
  • Free Bone Density Screening
  • Distribution of Free Saplings
  • Women’s Empowerment Project
  • Sponsorship of Course Fees for Five Students
  • GLRA Vocational Training Centre Community Service Projects

The NSS volunteers played a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the camp. They warmly welcomed the beneficiaries, guided them through the registration process, and directed them to the appropriate medical consultation and screening sections.

Special attention was given to elderly participants, who were assisted in moving between different medical departments. Volunteers patiently helped senior citizens reach consultation rooms, diagnostic counters, and bone density screening areas, ensuring they received timely medical attention with dignity and care.

The volunteers also maintained orderly queues, coordinated patient flow, provided information about the available healthcare services, and supported the medical team in managing the large number of beneficiaries. Their dedication, discipline, and compassionate service significantly contributed to the successful conduct of the medical camp.
