Training program on “Food Safety”

On 12th August 2025, the IQAC and the Department of Microbiology jointly organized a Training Program on Food Safety at the Seminar Hall, Annai Violet Arts & Science College. The resource person, Ms. V. Nagalakshmi, Fast Track Trainer, Parikshan FSS Pvt. Ltd., delivered an insightful presentation on food safety, focusing on building foundational knowledge of food safety standards, identifying common adulterants, and demonstrating simple screening methods, while also reinforcing good hygiene and handling practices for consumers and food handlers.
She elaborated on key topics such as FSSAI regulations, licensing, and standards; label literacy including nutrition facts, claims, allergens, and date markings; as well as essential hygiene practices like proper handwashing, prevention of cross-contamination, maintaining safe temperatures, and implementing FIFO/FEFO methods.
