The Union Budget and its Implications on India’s Economy

The Department of Economics in association with IQAC organized a seminar on “The Union Budget and its Implications on India’s Economy” on 27 February 2026 at the Seminar Hall of Annai Violet Arts and Science College. The seminar was delivered by Dr. V. Saravanan, Assistant Professor from Sir Theagaraya College, Chennai.
During the seminar, the resource person explained the concept and importance of the Union Budget. He discussed topics such as government income and expenditure, fiscal deficit, taxation, and welfare schemes. He also explained how the Union Budget affects different sectors like agriculture, industry, education, and employment. Around 60 students attended the seminar and actively listened to the lecture.
