INTERNATIONAL COSTAL CLEANUP DRIVE 2025

On 20th September 2025, a group of 15 enthusiastic Biochemistry students, along with two dedicated staff members — Dr. R. Harini, Head of the Department of Biochemistry, and Dr. S. Nirmala Devi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry — actively participated in a Coastal Cleaning Activity held at Marina Beach near the Lighthouse, Chennai. The event was organized by Don Bosco Vazhikaatti – AVC in collaboration with the Tech Mahindra Foundation, with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and contributing to the cleanliness and sustainability of our coastal areas.

The students displayed commendable team spirit, energy, and commitment throughout the activity. Armed with gloves, garbage bags, and a sense of responsibility, they cleaned significant portions of the beach, collecting various types of waste and segregating them for proper disposal. Their enthusiastic participation not only made a visible impact on the cleanliness of the area but also served to inspire the public about the importance of maintaining clean and healthy beaches.
