Industrial Visit – Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)-09.09.25

On 09th September 2025, Department of Chemistry organized a Industrial visit to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Anna Nagar west extension, Chennai 600101. A group of 27 students accompanied with Mr. S. Deepak Kumar, Dr. K. Premlatha, Ms. P. Niranjana, Assistant Professors, Department of Chemistry, Annai Violet Arts and Science College visited ONGC at 10 a.m. The students warmly welcomed Mr. Ramaswamy, Head-RGL. He gave a comprehensive briefing on hydrocarbon extraction and its applications. He also explained in detail how this sector helps improve employment opportunities for the public.
Students actively interacted with him to clarify their doubts related to pollution and the adverse effects on landforms, which was highly appreciated.
Students also visited the testing laboratory and the crude samples. The fossil sample collection laboratory provided valuable information about archaeology. This program created a significant impact on the students’ knowledge related to oil extraction processes.
