Nadaga Vizha

The Department of Tamil conducted a Tamil drama on 15.10.2025 on the occasion of Freshers’ Day 2025. The purpose of this program was to encourage the students and promote the Tamil language.

The titles of the dramas are:

1.      Veerath Thai

2.      Komali Mannan

3.      Katrathu Kathal

4.      AnjaaNenjam

5.      Avalum Nanum

A total of over 100 students performed their roles beautifully in the four dramas. The guests of the program were Mr. K. Jayakrishnan, B.A., Artistic Director of Proscenium Theatre and Creative Solutions; Dr. Arulnithi, Head of the Department of Tamil at St. Thiyagaraya College; and Dr. T. Prema, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, Mar Gregorios College. The five dramas competed against each other, and the teams of performers who bagged the trophies were as follows:

First Place       :Avalum Nanum

Second Place  : Veerath Thai,  Komali Mannan

Third Place     : Katrathu Kathal

The students were awarded for Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor (Male and Female). The Tamil Theatre Club event was a resounding success, bringing together a diverse group of participants to celebrate entertainment and culture. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, staff members, and esteemed guests, including the Secretary, Principal, and Vice-Principal.
