Green Actions (Tree Planting) – “Roots of Remembrance”
On August 18, 2025, the IQAC, NSS unit, and Department of Biochemistry, in collaboration with Anbu Karunai Illam, organized a tree plantation drive titled “Roots of Remembrance” at Koratur Lake West Area. The event promoted simple yet impactful green actions, including reducing plastic use, adopting eco-friendly transportation, conserving energy and water, recycling, and choosing sustainable products.
Students enthusiastically participated in planting saplings, contributing to the initiative’s success in fostering environmental responsibility and sustainability. The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Mr. T.R. Frank D Ruban, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Avadi Commissionerate, Chennai, who delivered an inspiring speech on nature conservation and the vital role of youth in shaping a sustainable future. Mr. Anbu Kumar, Trustee of Anbu Karunai Illam Charitable Trust, also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to incorporate eco-friendly practices into their daily lives. The local community, including residential members, appreciated the initiative and actively supported the plantation drive, making the program both impactful and meaningful.
