On 15th August 2022, Fine Arts Club had organized the 76th Independence Day Celebration, 75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, at the college premises. Captain Lalit Rana, Ordnance Depot, Indian Army, Avadi, was the chief guest for the event. Followed by a musical rendition by college choir, Ms. Hemapriya of III B Sc Microbiology presented the welcome address. After introducing the chief guest, he was called forth to hoist the national flag. Principal Dr. Initha Lebonon Ebency, Vice Principal Mrs. Japhia Solomon and all other dignitaries joined the chief guest for the flag hoisting. The choir team performed the flag song which was followed by March Past by a mélange of students from four different college houses. They honored and saluted the chief guest at the end of the parade. The celebration had various cultural activities such as welcome dance, pyramid, group dance, mime, and speech in Tamil, English and Hindi, by students from diverse departments. There were also Rangoli and Speech competitions held for students to exhibit their patriotism artistically. The chief guest distributed prizes for the winners before addressing the gathering. Chief Guest Captain Lalit Rana addressed the gathering at this juncture of the program on the importance of remembering the great people who had sacrificed their life for the nation’s wellbeing. He further said that a citizen should always be open to serve the nation. The celebration concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Saravanaa K of III B Sc Microbiology.
