IQAC & Women’s cell organised Inauguration of women cell with a live Webinar "SINGAPENNAE" on 14.10.2020. The objective of the event was to highlight about the women achievers in India and to build confidence on how to face the challenging world.
The Guest speaker was Ms. T.S. Devaki, M.Sc. B.Ed. Vice Principal, BNP School, Ocheri. The welcome address, overview of the women’s cell for past five years by a powerpoint presentation was given by our women’s cell coordinator, Mrs. M. Hamsavathani, Head - Department of Microbiology. The cell also consolidated the student’s e-poster in the theme “Save the girl child” by a powerpoint presentation by Women cell member, Mrs.K.Meena, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Biochemistry. The introduction about the chief guest was given by Ms. Sumapriya, Student coordinator. Our resource person Ms.T.S.Devaki briefed about the Women achievers those who worked for the upliftment of women in the society entitled “Singapenne” topic with an attractive power point presentation virtually via ‘Zoom’ meeting with the coordinators, faculties and students.
She also gave us a wide insight about the society which has created a mirage that women enjoy power and equality and justice is prevalent in 20th century. But on the contrary women are pushed to a vulnerable state whose voices still are unheard and unsorted in the society. They are physically and mentally abused and are deprived of their rights. Every aspect related to the topic was well explained in an elaborative manner. Participants from various departments actively took part. The webinar was concluded with Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. K.Meena, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry. Attendees of the live webinar acquired the knowledge about gender equality and women’s rights and gained confidence on how to face the challenging world.
