Consumer Awareness Program on “Silk Mark lables”  (8th August 2019)

 Mr.P.M.Pandi, Deputy Director (Inspection) and Mr.Prabakara Rao, Assistant Director in Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textile, Government of India  conducted a program with aim  to promote ‘Silk Mark’ and to perform identification of pure silk which helps students to become a smart customer.Faculty members and students were explained about origin of silk, life cycle of silk, types of silk, method of different silk making and identification of silk. Students were exposed how to test the silk fabric using burning test with demonstration. Moreover different variety of cocoons, raw silk and silk fabric swatches had shown for knowledge of students. All members of this program were improved conscious about ‘silk mark’ and importance of ‘silk mark’ and purchase the right quality of silk.
