Annai Violet Arts and Science College organised an Orientation Programme for the first-year entrants on 13th August, 2022, from 10.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. at the College campus.
The major objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of students.
The freshers’ who came with their parents were astonished to be in a warm, friendly atmosphere. The programme began with an invocation and a welcome dance by the senior students. It was followed by Dr. S. Uma Sarulatha, Head, Department of Commerce, who welcomed the students, their parents, dignitaries, faculty members and the Chief Guest of the event Pastor. D. Paul Dhinakaran. Dr. C. Initha Lebanon Ebency, the Principal, highlighted the motto, history and reputation of the institution along with its recent achievements. Mrs. Japhia Solomon, IQAC Coordinator and Vice Principal, focused on the academic disciplines of the college in her address. Dr. P. E. R. Premchand, Joint Secretary, deliberated on the rules and regulations of the College. Pastor. D. Paul Dhinakaran sought the blessings of God with his prayer and shared the word of God. Dr. S. Radha, Head, Department of Accounting and Finance, proposed the vote of thanks.
The Freshers’ and their parents had a luncheon session with the faculties. After their post-lunch, the students visited the respective departments’ heads and had a session on the highlights of the departments, course syllabus, significance of attendance, and the importance of internal session tests. Apart from the above-mentioned points, all the teaching faculties were introduced who imparted knowledge on day-to-day life, about writing skills, answering the questions via sharing their personal experiences of life.
