On 6th July 2023, Annai Violet Arts and Science College surpassed yet another milestone in its history by inaugurating the National Cadet Corps at the college premises. Lt. Col. Samuel J. Prem Kumar, Officer Commanding served as the Chief Guest for the program. The program was also furnished with some more delegates namely, JCO Gandhi, Superintendent Thirumal, Junior Assistant Geetha, PS Staff Manohar and a few more. Chairman Chev. Dr. N. R. Dhanapalan, Secretary Mr. N. R. D. Prem Kumar, Principal Dr. C. Initha Lebanon Ebency, Vice Principal Mrs. Japhia Solomon, Head of various departments and students were present for the prestigious event. The chief guest opened the NCC room and launched the foundation stone of NCC. Welcome address and felicitation segments were carried out by the Principal. The chief guest was felicitated by the Chairman and the team was honoured by the Secretary. Post the felicitation, Lt. Col. Samuel J. Prem Kumar addressed the gathering on the importance of NCC, how power comes with more responsibility and why self-discipline is essential to grow the nation. He quoted a few great leaders like Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr and George Bush Jr. to reflect on how the leaders had always been leading a simple life yet contributing a huge value to the nation. Followed by his address, Vice Principal Mrs. Japhia Solomon rendered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with NCC anthem followed by National Anthem.
