The harvest festival of Kerala Onam was celebrated on 1st September 2017 in the college premises. The celebration began with Shingari Melam procession from the college entrance to the main block, which led the Guests - Chev. Dr. N. R. Dhanapalan, College Chairman, Vice Chairman Mrs. Violet Dhanapalan, The Management Mrs. Rosary, Mrs. Nancy Praveen, Mrs. Shoba Premkumar and the Judges for the day, Mrs. Sheela Sebastin and Mrs. Sheeba Alex. Principal Dr. Kamala Balakrishnan, Vice Principal Mrs. Japhia Solomon along with the Heads of various departments witnessed the event. Separate areas were allotted to four houses in which the theme “Kerala at AVC” was depicted in the form of Culture, Food Cutlery, Art & Music. Each team has to decorated the rooms in such a way that it portrayed the miniature of Kerala. Competitions like Pookalam, Dance, Singing were also conducted and the students gave the best performance. The event came to an end with “OnamSadhya”. The objective of celebrating such festival instills the value of unity in diversity, which further prepares the minds of the students to respect and love every culture and tradition.
