The Literaria Club conducted their club activity with the theme “Children Literature” on 24th January. The Chief Guest for the day was Prof. I A J. Jeyadoss, Associate Professor, Department of English, Loyola College. The department’s Newsletter “INSIGHT” was released by the dignitaries. The Chief Guest judged the events and distributed prizes to the winners, who actively participated and exhibited their innovative ideas in various offstage competitions like Model Presentation, Poster Presentation and for the Plays enacted Onstage.
The Drama highlighted on children’s literature with an intention to motivate students to inculcate reading habits. Few children literature books were handed over to the students of B. A. English. The First Prize was bagged by the team who enacted “The Pied Piper of Hamelin”, the Second Prize was won by “Cinderella” and the Third Prize was awarded to “The Ransom of Red Chief”. The Best Actor Female Award was shared by Judi Lie Cleen of II B. A. English for her role as Cinderella and Gayathri of I B. Com, and the Best Actor Male was received by Agnesh Dhurkendiran of III B. A. English for his role as Pied Piper. The Best Supporting Actor for Male and Female was bagged by Perumal of II BCA and Karthika of I B. Com (CS).
